May is AAPI Heritage Month

Updated: Jul 22, 2021

May marks Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, a time to honor and celebrate the many contributions Asian and Pacific Islander Americans have made to the history, society, and culture of our country. This year in particular, it is critical for our industry to reaffirm its commitment to standing with the Asian and Pacific Islander community in the fight against hatred, while also honoring the diversity of different Asian cultures and elevating AAPI voices within our industry. Here are three ideas for celebrating AAPI Heritage Month, curtesy of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council: Learn and Grow: Delve into history with the Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in paying tribute to the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America's history and are instrumental in its future success. Buy from AAPI Women Owned Businesses: Perhaps the best way you can support AAPI women entrepreneurs is to do business with them. This month we challenge you to buy at least ONE product from an AAPI women-owned business and share your purchase on social media using the hashtag #BuyWomenOwned. Raise your Voice: Become a fierce advocate of equality for the AAPI community. Stand in solidarity, serve as an ally in your network, and have conversations with friends and colleagues about what you can do to help or support one another.

We believe that to go far, we must go together. Join us as we work together uplifting AAPI voices.
